| KSDS AIR PERSONALITY PROFILE Drew has been a member of the Jazz 88 crew for three years and is very proud to be a part of the on-air team. In addition to doing a live jazz show every Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Drew produces and hosts The Second Line Parade. This one-hour show focuses on the music, culture and rich history of New Orleans and Southwest Louisiana. You can get a taste of this invigorating gumbo Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. Drews passion for music began on his 5th Birthday when his parents gave him his first record player and two 45s. I still remember my first two records, The Beatles and Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs, he recalls, from the moment the needle dropped onto A Hard Days Night it was all over for me, I was completely head over heels hooked on music! Soon thereafter the Millers packed up the record player and moved to San Diego. In 1983 Drew graduated from the Orange County Broadcast Workshop and began a twelve-year stretch as a night club DJ throughout San Diego. Since 1989 he has owned and operated Unity Sounds, a successful mobile music / disc jockey service offering the largest music library in San Diego. Drews interests include reading, traveling, playing the congas and collecting records. His love of all-things-New-Orleans began in 1996 when he visited the Crescent City with his wife who was born there. They fell in love with the people, cuisine, party vibe, and of course, the music of New Orleans. I hit every music store when I am there and bring back as much as I can to share with you on The Second Line Parade. Bon Ton Roulet! (Let the good times roll!) |
